Introduction of Our Training Courses EWTEC is expanding its scope to include a greater number of participants from the private sector as well as NGOs and a renewed focus on TVETCs. A variety of courses are on offer at EWTEC, from the basic courses that serve as the cornerstone of learning to the advanced training courses that boost the abilities of participants, in addition to supplemental courses which are provided as needed. Training Course 1. Basic Training Course: 8-12 weeks >>Groundwater Management (GM) Objectives To enhance the ability of the staff in planning and implementation of groundwater development and groundwater resources management.
Target Group
Junior and Medium level engineers with educational background of BSc in geology or hydrogeology, who are assigned at groundwater resources development or similar assignment.
>>Drilling Technology (DT)
Objective
To provide practical technical knowledge and skills in drilling technology for advanced well construction.
Target Group
Junior and Senior drillers with technical college/school diplomas or technicians being groomed to be drillers.
>>Drilling Machinery Maintenance Technology (DMMT)
Objective
To provide practical technical knowledge and skills required for effective maintenance of drilling rigs and related machineries.
Target Group
Mechanics and technicians who are technical or high school graduates and are working or would be assigned to work as drilling machinery maintenance mechanics.
>>Water Supply Engineering (WSE)
Objectives
To enable participants to plan and design water supply facilities and supervise its construction.
Target Group
Engineers with BSc degree in civil and sanitary engineering, and engineers with advanced diploma in water supply and sanitation, who are the staff of Woreda Water Office or town water supply office.
>>Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technology (EMMT)
Objectives
To provide fundamental and practical knowledge and skill on water well electrical equipment such as submersible pump, diesel engine generating sets and its control devices.
Target Group
Technical school diploma holders or 12 grade with at least five years working experiences in maintenance of electrical submersible pump and diesel engine generating set, and operation and maintenance of water supply systems.

2. Advanced Training Course: 3-4 weeks
>>Groundwater Modeling (International)
Objectives
To provide basic knowledge and practical training on groundwater modeling and simulation analysis using latest software.
Target Group
Medium to Senior engineers with educational background of BSc in geology, hydrogeology or civil engineering. Working experience in relevant field and knowledge of PC operation are required.

Objectives
To enable participants to plan, design and utilize GIS software for groundwater development and management.
Target Group
Medium to Senior engineers with BSc. Working experience in relevant field of groundwater development and management.

Objectives
To provide practical knowledge of remote sensing technology for groundwater development and management using aerial photographs and satellite images with latest software.
Target Group
Medium to Senior engineers with BSc. Working experience in relevant field of groundwater development and management.

International training courses have been organized regularly inviting participants from 15 other African countries: Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
