■RWSS (Rural Water Supply and Sanitatin) Support

EWTEC will support ongoing and future Japanese grant aid projects and other activities by NGOs and other donors in the field of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation in Ethiopia. EWTEC will support to introduce the water supply schemes in Butajira area through the Japanse Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects.

■Water Quality Testing at Mekedella area (Sept. 2006)

Based on the request of grass-roots project from a local NGO which includes 10 new well construction at Mekedella area (Oromiya region), a water quality testing was conducted. Though the development survery in the area (Ziway area), high fruoride content in the gronudwater was reported. At the same time, the possibility of rope pump installation in the area was also studied.
